About the Journal

The International Journal of Biblical Research Studies (IJBRS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the ChristoPress Institute of Biblical Research Studies and Theological Education (CIBREST), Nigeria. IJBRS is dedicated to advancing Scripture-based inquiry across all academic disciplines — making the Bible the primary textbook, the ultimate authority in matters of doctrine, faith, theory, and practice.

Aim and Scope

IJBRS publishes original research papers in Biblical Research Studies and in any discipline — including sciences, arts, business, education, and humanities — provided the work proceeds from a biblical frame of mind. The journal welcomes:

  • Biblical Exegetical Papers
  • Scriptural Review Research Articles
  • Scholarly and Critical Comparative Articles
  • Conceptual and Theoretical Papers
  • Devotional and Spiritual Reflection Articles
  • Biblical Theology and Applied Theology

Publication Frequency

IJBRS is published triannually — three issues per volume, one volume per year — in April, August, and December.

Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Both author and reviewer identities are kept confidential throughout. Review criteria include scriptural relevance and depth, originality, spiritual impact, soundness, biblical and theological profundity, and adherence to SBL citation style.

Open Access Policy

IJBRS is a fully open-access journal. All content is freely available to readers worldwide without charge, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full-text articles for any lawful purpose without prior permission, provided the source is acknowledged.

Copyright and Licensing

Copyright over all published articles is held by the ChristoPress Institute of Biblical Research Studies and Theological Education (CIBREST) and ChristoPress Digital Hub Limited. Articles are distributed under open access terms — readers may circulate content in digital form without further permission, provided the source is acknowledged and content is not altered.

Article Processing and Submission Fees

There is no submission fee. An Article Processing Charge (APC) applies upon acceptance. Acceptance decisions are based solely on scholarly merit and originality — not financial involvement.

Citation Style

All manuscripts must follow the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) citation format, combined with CIBREST's formatting standards.

Privacy Statement

Names and email addresses submitted to this journal are used exclusively for the stated purposes of IJBRS and will not be shared with any third party or used for any other purpose.
